Cure takes home silver in the European Design Awards for its work on the Woodnest treetop huts.

How do you build a digital experience that invites calm and curiosity? That was the task when the Cure was commissioned to develop the identity and website for Woodnest. A collection of architect-designed treetop huts attached directly to the pines of Odda, overlooking the Hardangerfjord.

An experience from the first click

Cure developed an identity and platform that invites the user to stop, breathe and experience. The website is structured as a path. Intuitive, but never intrusive. Large images, airy compositions and subtle transitions inspired by the movements of pine trees give the feeling of calm.

“The idea was to create the journey long before the guest had checked in, and bring these elements into the website as well. In the digital spaces, we invited discovery rather than a streamlined sales funnel. Visiting Woodnest should be an experience in itself, both digitally and in the treetops,” says Brage Brenna-Lund, general manager of Cure.

European Design Award

The solution has been awarded with silver in the European Design Awards 2025, in the category “Promotional Site”. The award honors works that successfully combine design, experience and brand in a holistic digital journey.

“We created a brand we believed in, together with someone who would go off the beaten path. The fact that it gets a place in the ED Awards was not the goal in itself, but it feels incredibly nice,” says Brage.

Since its launch, Woodnest has been fully booked half a year forward in time. Not in spite of the calm appearance, but because of it.

“When someone dares to go outside the safe, that's often when it hits. And this time it hits far beyond national borders as well,” he says.
